The 81st Ukrainian Chess Championship is set to take place from 26th July to 7th August in the President Hotel in Kiev. Twelve players will compete in the round robin tournament.
With the average elo of 2666 this is the strongest Championship ever in the history of independent Ukraine.

The ACP and Science Park Amsterdam Chess organize the “ACP Golden Classic” that will take place in Amsterdam from 14 to 22 July, in the same venue and at the same time as the Dutch Championships and the SPA Open.
Seven great players will be battling for the ACP Golden Classic title in an unprecedented way in the computer era: they shall be competing under the same time control as was used in the World Championship matches in the Golden Era of chess: 2,5 hours/40 moves + adjournment!
This should provide an occasion for producing highly spectacular and imaginative chess, by giving the seven gladiators the most important ingredient needed for exploiting their skills and fantasy: time to think.
The players who will be fighting for the overall prize-fund of 35000 USD make up for a Category XIX tournament. They are:

Матч Россия - Китай проводится с 1 июля (день приезда) по 9 июля (день отъезда) в Санкт-Петербурге
B состав каждой команды входят 6 человек: 5 игроков и тренер. Матч проводится по действующим правилам ФИДЕ по шевенингенской системе раздельно между мужскими и женскими сборными.

Игры Высшей лиги чемпионата России по шахматам откроются сегодня на первом этаже тюменского технопарка в 20 часов. Соревнования спортсменов будут проходить каждый день с 16 по 27 июня.
Чемпионат пройдет в 11 туров по швейцарской системе.
Среди них — сильнейшие гроссмейстеры страны. Наивысший рейтинг у представителей сильного пола имеет чемпион Европы этого года Дмитрий Яковенко из Нижневартовска. Также число фаворитов входят брянский шахматист Ян Непомнящий, Эрнесто Инаркиев из Элисты, петербужец Никита Витюгов и Дмитрий Андрейкин из Рязани. У женщин рейтинговый список возглавляет международный гроссмейстер Наталья Погонина из Владивостока.
